FAQs
What are tooth gems?
A tooth gem is a semi-permanent, painless procedure that entails placing jewelry on your tooth/teeth using dental grade adhesive. They are non -invasive and temporary, meaning they can be easily removed by a dentist without causing any damage to the tooth.
How long will tooth gems last?
Tooth gems can last anywhere between one month to one year. The longevity of tooth gems depends entirely on the individual. The natural acidity of your saliva and diet will affect how long it lasts. This also depends on your at home care, the size of the gem, and placement on the tooth.
Will they harm my teeth?
No, it’s perfectly safe. Our tooth gem tech is professionally trained in the application and uses only the highest quality dental-grade materials. However, please note that tooth gems cannot be applied to artificial tooth surfaces like crowns, caps, veneers, or dentures.
Can I still brush my teeth?
After applying the gem, avoid brushing directly over it for the first 24 hours. After that, wait at least 48 hours before using an electric toothbrush. Regularly brush and practice good dental hygiene to prevent any buildup around the gem.
Is there anything I can’t eat or drink with a tooth gem?
Only within the first 24 hours, allowing the bond to fully set. Immediately after application, there is no eating or drinking anything but water for the first 1-2 hours. Aftercare instructions will be discussed and provided to you, and can be see here.
What if the tooth gem does fall off?
Don’t worry, this too shall pass…
They are lead free and non-toxic.
